Paintball cylinders: High pressure air cylinders, often mistakenly called "bombs" :-)

As their name suggests, these cylinders are filled with air (not with oxygen), which is compressed to 200-300 bar (3000-4500 psi), i.e. a pressure approximately 130x higher than that in the tyres of a normal car! Their advantage is the purity and the relative stability that makes the dosing of air into the gun steady and reliable, which is reflected, inter alia, in the precision of the shooting. Paradoxically its greatest, and indeed its only disadvantage is its cost that does not end with the purchase of the actual cylinder. In order to be able to mount the cylinder on the gun it is still necessary to have a controller (for CO2 cylinders this is in the form of a valve), which, although it is usually supplied with the cylinder, this is not always the case. If, in addition, you wish to be self-sufficient, i.e. to be able to fill the cylinders yourself, you will have to purchase not only a reduction adapter and a large technical cylinder (with a capacity of 20 to 50 litres), or a smaller diving one (of 10 to 20 litres), from which paintball cylinders are also frequently filled, but also a compressor that you will definitely not be able to find in a normal supermarket. This is a special high-pressure compressor, widely used by divers, at a cost of CZK 50,000+, according to the make and the type. However, if you happen to be close to a club or a business that will happily fill your cylinder for a reasonable fee, these investments will not be necessary.
